This is Coronet’s first model based on the 21 ft hull. It was introduced 1965 and named 21 Explorer II, to follow up the successful 22 Explorer which was taken off production the same year 1965.
Informal names are "21 Explorer", "Explorer II", "21 De Luxe Cruiser", "21 Cabin Cruiser" or "21 Cabin", the three latter to indicate the relationship with the similar but larger 24 De Luxe and 24 Cabin.
Coronet 21 Explorer II was produced until 1969 when it was removed from the model program. The deck colour was changed from dark green 1967 to light green 1968. Boats with the dark green deck are generally from 1965-1967, with the light green deck from 1968 or 1969.
The hull number on 21 Explorer II has the form xxx 30y where xxx is the serial number y and the last figure in the year of production during the 1960s.
