thermostat aq170 which type

Hi,

I finally got my aq170 working! It runs now fine.

Two issue left:
A. New thermostat, I can buy one in a carshop for volvo oldtimers but they come with various working temperatures, so which one should I buy and why; 75, 82 or 87 Celsius?
B. Temperature meter, the meter does come up a little but not much. I replaced the sender already and hope when I add a new thermostat that the temp goes up but not yet sure. Any ideas on how I can test the meter or cabling?

Hi Michel. If the engines coolingsystem is a single system based only on water directly from the sea the thermostat temperature should be max 60 celcius. Temperatures abowe will couse a higher risk for serious corrosion in no time in your engine. If your engines coolingsystem is based on a system with sweetwater in a closed system the thermostat with 82 celcius is ok. If the thermostat is permanent open by a failure, the meter will not show correctly but only low temperature. So install a new thermostat and wait and see the result on the meter before you do anything else. Best regards from Finn 1786.
