Hi Coronet lovers! :)
I'd like to know if the cables of the lever drive (the big and red ones) in the cabin under the instrument panel is like the one in my boat. See the picture at http://www.coronet-italia.it/cavi.jpg
Are there any picture of other boats (Deepsea) set in a different way?
Now they are cumbersone and not easily working, so we are trying to find out good ideas to change it.
MANY THANKS
:)
Ciao from Italy

Ciao Susy,
I do not know how the throttle/gear cables are supposed to be fit in a Deepsea, but yours look as if they are slightly too long. Consequently the cables have been turned in an extra loop that really is too tight.
In general there are two things that make throttle cables unpleasant to operate:
1) Poorly greased old cables
2) Too tight loops of the cable (this becomes more of a problem when the cables get old and the oil dries out)
These problems are even more pronounced in a boat with dual steering positions, like the Deepsea.
In your case, I would check to see if it is possible to spend the spare cable length in any other way than the tight loop below the steering wheel, or fit shorter cables. Before making any changes to the cables, however, you should disconnect each cable and check that they are operating freely. If they are not, they must be oiled or replaced.
The best solution is obviously to fit electronic engine controls, but this could be prohibitively expensive.

Morse have a new kind of cables with less friction for smother operation. The price is higher than the regular ones.
Another thing could be that the idle setting is to high (+800 rev) and that will cause
problems shifting gears..
