Has anyone replaced the headliner in the forward (sleeping) cabin in a 32 Deepsea? I have a 1971, and I'm restoring the headliner with a product called "hull blanket" which is a thick woven cloth which the manufacturer claims is able to conform to irregular contours. Before I apply adhesive on everything, I'd like to know if others have done this, and if they found they could do it on one piece, or if it is necessary to cut some individual pieces.
Please see photo with arrows showing irregular and undercut surfaces.
Thanks for any advice!

Hello George,
Now I have not replaced the headliner in my Sedan 32, but my father was an upholsterer and has covered most things and shapes. I am not familiar with the product hull blanket but it would need to have considerable stretch and compliance to conform to the shapes of the hull and deck head. Personally I think you will need to cut shapes to achieve a smooth wrinkle free covering.

Matt
Hello Matt,
Thanks for your response. You're probably right, as there's still some of what I think is the original material there, and it was done in strips around the windows, and where the deck meets the hull. I'm going to start low and work my way up, adhering the material as I go. If there are problems at the transitions, then I'll make incisions, reposition the material, and continue gluing it in place.
Regards,
George

I don't know if there is a ban on touting a product, but the so-called "hull-blanket" material I bought from a company here in the US was flexible enough to install in one piece. It was not easy, mind you.
