Left-hand (Venstrestyret) drive on 32 Deepsea

Tak for nogen indsigt.
My 32 Deepsea has the lower controls located on the port (left) side. The same case exists on my 24 Deluxe. I've never seen this on any other Coronets, nor is it common on any boats in North America. Does anyone know if this was for the export market, and to which countries?
Thanks for any insight.

Hi George,

all Coronet's, at least, 27 Seafarer, 31 Seafarer and SF 31 AC, manufactured by Coronet Boats Ltd, Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada and sold on the US market, have the control stand, steering wheel on the Port side, as all Coronet's manufactured as original in Denmark. But please, have a look at our homepage "Coronetmodeller". The Deepsea, seems to have the lower control stand (located in the cabin) on the SB side. Another question, is Your Deepsea a Sedan? Where is the boat manufactured? In Canada? Please try to find the "Serial No.". If the boat is manufactured in Canada, the S/N will start with: ZCA, followed by 32xx xxxxx.

If You have further questions, please let me know, as I have a 31 SF, manufatured in Canada. S/N on this baby is: ZCA 3112 7M76F, where "76" stands for the manufacturing year.

Best regards

and sail smooth!

Elon

Hi Elon,

Thank you for your reply! I just found the hull number 2 days ago, and it is 015-3213. (So it is now finally registered here at the CYC, and you can see the photo of the number.)
I do not see "ZCA" anywhere. No, it isn't a sedan. I did buy the boat in Ontario.
There is another number embossed or engraved into the central fore/aft beam with the number 346959 10.71 (see photo), and interestingly enough, it is in a European font-please note the figures "4", "6" and "9". This is not a US, or Canadian (I don't think, anyway) style of font. But what this number signifies is beyond me-maybe you know.
The Port-side controls dictate that the entire layout of the cabin is different-seating, fridge, etc, are quite different.
Were the Woodstock Boats hulls built in Denmark, and then fitted up in New Brunswick?
No boats down here in the states have steering and controls on the port side, so it's a mystery to me as to why they did this in Canada.

Best Regards,
George

A photo of the controls on the port side. I have replaced the intruments with more modern ones since this photo was taken. (and the cushions to something a little less floral.)
