Hei Jurg
I have also began renovation of the inside of my 26. It’s a pretty “soft” roof but in some places I notice it’s lost quite a bit of rigidity from when I imagine it was new. The most likely cause of this is water ingress between the fibreglass and the wood (there is plywood in between layers of fiberglass). So the wood in places is rotten and lacks rigidity. I think there are 2 options here :
1. Reinforce existing with another couple of layers of fiberglass (and maybe also thin plywood)
2. Remove inner layer of fiberglass and sandwiched plywood and completely replace with a more modern material(s).
I’m going for “good enough” which is option 1. I will also be sure to check that all areas (typically screw holes) are properly sealed to prevent things getting worse.
I will also forbid kids and others from climbing on the old girl’s roof from now on.

Thank you for your reply Oliver. It seems we have the same problem. The reason I was wondering if the material was something else than GRP was because it’s lack of strength and there is no signs of crack. It looks more like soft plastic and I think I’ve heard sometime, the roof of the 24 Midi was made of plastic and not GRP? Maybe I remember wrong. Anyway, your solution seems solid. I think i will do the same. Best of luck and thank you again.
